Last day of Kindergarten

Last day of Kindergarten

Last day of Kindergarten

My sweet girl finished Kindergarten this week and it was a surprisingly hard day for me. I was way more emotional about the last day of Kindergarten than the first. 1st grade just seems more real than Kindergarten. Of course she is too excited about summer vacation to realize how monumental this transition is. Two days later, all my tears are dried but I wanted to share a few photos of the teacher gifts lil’ A gave to her amazing teacher and teacher aid.

Her teacher's favorite color is purple! So I created a wreath with purple floral embellishments.

Plants vs. Zombies Half Birthday Party!

Party numero two from last weekend was a super fun theme that required a little more than the typical brainstorming session. I was only passingly familiar with the Plants vs. Zombies game so creating decor and other party elements proved an unique challenge. So what’s a girl to do? Download a sample of the game and get to playin’ of course! I have to admit that the hour trial wasn’t enough. I had so much fun!

The mama that hired me to help with her boys’ is a very creative friend of mine and I love all the crafty flare we were able to bring together. I’m just sad that we were unable to attend this awesome party! Here are a few fun shares from their day:

You Are My Sunshine Birthday Party

One weekend, two parties. Phew! That was a lot of work but so very much fun. On Saturday, a very special little girl celebrated her 3rd birthday. Lil’ Miss Alana has been through a great deal of health issues in her short life but she is the brightest sunshine to all who are near her. It was a tremendous privilege to be asked to create decor for her big day. This theme thrilled me because I sang this song to my little girl when she was a baby (and even now), plus her upcoming ballet recital routine is to this sweet song.

Here are a few favorites from the day:

The Birthday Girl!

I am so so happy with how everything turned out!

All of the items featured above are part of our Ultimate Birthday Party Package.

Letter Wreath

Our sweet friend Jac celebrated her 30th birthday yesterday! As a gift to her, I created a “J” wreath in her fave colors pink and Tiffany blue (or as close as I could come). I love the way it turned out and am absolutely in love with the felt roses I created to adorn the wreath. What I love best about this wreath is the versatility. You can hang it on a door or wall or stand it up on a shelf as a decorative piece.

I will personalize all letter wreath orders including colors. This item has been added to the store!

This week I have so much on my to do list! I’m finishing up a wreath for my daughter’s teacher as a thank you gift, creating a wreath for my Facebook winner, and beginning work on 2 upcoming birthday parties. I’ll be sure to share my progress along the way!

Hello Kitty Bubblegum Party

Last Saturday, we helped Miss Gabby celebrate her 6th birthday! She decided on a Hello Kitty Bubblegum theme… LOTS OF PINK! For the party, I created a Happy Birthday banner, 2 games, Hello Kitty headbands, and a special shirt for the birthday girl!

Thursday Thoughts: Pass it on

pass it on

One place I find the most inspiration is through my amazingly creative friends. This new adventure would not be possible without their inspiration, support, and encouragement. I’m giddy with the possibilities!

My amazingly talented friend, Nicole, has started up her graphic design business again. She is genius behind my logo which I absolutely love. We will be working together to offer complimentary items in our stores… matching party decor and invites. She has created a fun invite for my daughter’s upcoming 6th birthday party.

Dreaming of Summertime!

The weather here in Ohio has finally stabled out and Spring is here! But the warmer weather hasn’t stopped me from dreaming of the beach. It has been almost year since I last dipped my toes in the ocean and hopefully the Summer will not pass without it happening again. I just couldn’t resist creating a beach themed wreath for a friend’s birthday next week.

This fun, Summertime wreath is now in my store. The colors can be customized but I just love the blues and how they mimic the ocean.

What are you dreaming of?

Welcome!

Welcome to Felt Wonderland! I am so very excited to begin this new adventure. For many years I have been creating stories and props using felt. I really love the peace I feel when making a new creation. Up until now, all my work has been either for storytime while I worked as a librarian or as gifts for friends and family. My 16 months as a SAHM has found me with a hole that I’ve been filling with crafty pursuits. For over a year, I have been looking for something more and contemplating a million possible business ventures.

After creating a spring wreath, my husband suggested I begin selling wreaths. I’d already been set on creating a shop to sell some of the fun felt embellished shirts I have been making for the kiddos. With the encouragement of a few more friends, Felt Wonderland was born. It is still a work in progress and the actual online store is still under construction but I would love to chat with anyone interested in a design. Since each wreath or felt design is handmade they are all custom which means I can make your design to suit your needs.

You can reach me at feltwonderlanddesigns@gmail.com

More examples of my work can be found at my Facebook page (while you are there please hit “Like!”)

And stay tuned… more designs will be added all the time!
